Transitions and Mindful Movement

The dynamic element of our classes comes into play during these transitions. While static poses challenge our endurance, a sequence of poses teaches us to synchronize our movements with our breath.
Often times, the transition between poses can be broken down into smaller movements to help us maintain the rhythm of our breath.
The overarching aim is to build upon the benefits of static stretches by integrating the rhythm of our breath and coordinating movements accordingly.

While many of us struggle with individual yoga poses, transitioning from one pose to the next can be even more challenging.
Transitions help us stay mindful of our breath and movement. They build strength by engaging our muscles, not momentum.
Consequently, moving gently between poses is more demanding both mentally and physically.
