The Stillness of Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a powerful relaxation practice that cultivates heightened awareness of both internal sensations and external surroundings. Surprisingly, this practice leads to a state of deep restfulness and tranquility. Despite its name, which includes the word "nidra" (often translated as "sleep"), Yoga Nidra encourages practitioners to remain awake and aware in complete stillnessl - which is easier said than done. Daily Savasana practice helps!

This deep relaxation technique is perfect for those days when you're feeling worn out and in need of restorative sleep. Among its many benefits, Yoga Nidra can help alleviate anxiety, ease headaches, and release tension.

Our weekly Yoga Nidra practice embodies the idea that "What movement does for the body, stillness does for the mind."

Every Friday, we begin with a sequence of calming poses that loosen our joints and allow our breath and energy to flow freely. This is followed by a guided relaxation practice, incorporating guided imagery and deep reflection.
